BEAUTY: Spring Lipsticks

Apologies for the slightly grainy photo. I have no idea what’s up with them at the moment! Will sort out ASAP. Anyway, nothing cheers me up more than a pretty Spring lipstick. Though, if I’m honest, lipstick cheers me up all year around but there is something a bit uplifting about a nice bright shade!

So, from left to right… First up we have Illamasqua Glamore Nude Lipstick in Cherub, which is a pretty nude/peach shade. I think it’s a bit brighter than a straight up nude, but isn’t really orangey toned. Weird description I know, but it’s honestly so flattering if you like warmer toned shades and don’t want anything too bold.

Buuut, if you do want bold, then MAC Lipstick in So Chaud will be right up your street. It’s a bold, bright but not too crazy, orange tone which goes on solid and stays there all day. It’s a really good shade to branch out into if you like wearing red, as it’s not too much of a jump! It’s such a gorgeous shade and one of my all time favourite oranges.

Next we have a high street option and one I always have in my handbag, the lovely Revlon Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow. I’ve talked about this one a lot before, but it’s a very pretty and flattering bright pink tone. Definitely cherry-like, but extremely flattering and an easy ‘bright’ option, as you can apply it lightly for a raspberry stain. I adore it!

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Lodhi is my next option, as it screams Spring to me with its orange/peachy shade. It’s rather stunning in person, I think, and it suits a range of skintones too as you can apply it as heavily or as light as you like. Some may find it a bit intimidating, but give it a swatch if you can!

Finally, a bubblegum pink shade in the form of MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox. It’s one for those who are definitely into pink lipsticks, as it’s a bright blue-toned mid-pink colour which looks lovely on. I always team it with a soft pink blush as it really pulls everything together and makes for a girly look that isn’t tacky. It’s a good’un!
